Ayres Natural Bridge Park
This 100-foot-long, 50-foot-high rock arches over LePrele Creek. The natural arch was formed when a bend in the creek eroded a rock face, leaving the upper portion untouched. The arch is surrounded by an amphitheater red rock. Call 307-358-3532 for more information.

Douglas Railroad Interpretive Center
A collection of 7 railroad cars is parked outside the old Chicago Elk Horn Railroad depot (now the chamber of commerce). Among the collection is a steam locomotive, dining car, sleeper, baggage car, coach, cattle car and caboose. Tours are offered Sat. - Sun. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. May - September.

Fort Fetterman
Located seven miles northwest of Douglas on Highway 93, this is the site of the last fort constructed in the Rockies. Today, only two of the original buildings remain. Inside the log officers' quarters is a small state run museum which features the historic displays of the fort, Indian battles and Fetterman City. Call 307-358-2864 for more information.

Glenrock Paleontological Museum

Laramie Peak / Medicine Bow National Forest / Esterbrook
The peak still stands as a landmark to the traveler, just as it did for the pioneers of the 1800's; Esterbrook offers camping, fishing, rock climbing, backpacking, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. Medicine Bow National Forest is a popular hunting location for sportsmen. Located 22 miles from Douglas, Wyoming.

North Platte River
Teeming with trout, there are public fishing areas along the river. Canoeing & float trips available. Located directly through Douglas, Wyoming.

Wyoming Pioneer Memorial Museum
Houses the state's finest collection of Indian and pioneer artifacts both civilian and military, including one of the first school houses built in Wyoming and a teepee from the "Dances with Wolves" movie. Call 307-358-9288 for more information.

Wyoming State Fair
The Fair is held in August and draws visitors from all over the United States. Carnival Rides, arts and crafts, vegetable and plant judging, demolition derby and an art show are just a few of the full-filled attractions featured. The fair also holds evening country and western concerts and the Miss Wyoming Rodeo contest. The pinnacle event is the PRCA rodeos held on the last three nights of the fair.
